New Business and Lead Generation Manager

Salary £35k-£55k | Permanent | Reporting to Nick Birkett (VP, Impact)

We are looking for a New Business and Lead Generation Manager to generate sales and help us increase the volume and velocity of quality leads coming into our new business funnel in the UK.

This role will focus on developing compelling and mutually beneficial partnerships that can generate warm referrals for the business; as well as on curating lead generation campaigns, both physical and digital, that bring qualified new leads into the sales funnel.

You will benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working although some office work will be required to interact with the broader team. Our head office is in West London so you should be able to work from there at least 2 days per week. If you are based in Manchester / Birmingham / another major UK city you should still apply as we are expanding to more locations.

What you'll be doing

In your role as New Business and Lead Generation Manager you will be expected to think creatively about the market opportunity and prioritise sales leads, partnerships and initiatives that can generate a large volume of quality new business. You will have a deep understanding of our value proposition, will be able to establish credibility with, and sell effectively to, key industry partners, and you will conceive and execute compelling lead generation campaigns, to enable us to maximise our market potential.

  • Establish and deliver on powerful, commercially-driven partnerships and referral campaigns with customers, producers and industry partners, with the purpose of dramatically increasing the number of quality leads coming into the sales funnel
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers, establishing sticky partnerships that stand the test of time - and incentivise these organisations to make warm introductions to target customers
  • Understand how we can harness digital marketing to drive more quality inbound leads into the sales funnel
  • Proposing new initiatives to attract and qualify leads as well as testing new approaches to capture existing demand
  • Build and nurture Collectiv Food's audience across the industry, including restaurant groups, contract catering, grocery stores and hotel chains
  • Measure your success and understand ROI of different activities, constantly challenging yourself to iterate and improve

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in sales / business development / partnerships / lead generation / pre-sales, with a track record of successfully creating pipeline & engagement in partnerships and assistance in driving revenue
  • Excellent communication skills: you are a clear thinker, speaker, and writer; creative in messaging and visually presenting when required
  • A natural problem solver and a strong communicator
  • Mature in your approach
  • Dynamic and able to adapt to fast-changing environments
  • Ambitious, with real drive to learn and grow

Added bonuses (or the cherries on top!)

  • You speak more than one language such as French
  • Experience in a start-up environment preferred
  • You have worked in the food wholesale and supply chain industry
  • You understand the complexity of perishable products and food supply chains
  • The qualifications and experiences above are a guide and we would still love to hear from you if you believe you have the necessary skills to excel with us.

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary with industry-matching pay reviews
  • EMI Stock Options for every employee
  • NEST Pension (option to choose greener funds)
  • £1000 per year for you to spend on what matters to you from learning and development to healthcare to mental wellbeing to gym membership - you choose!
  • 25 days plus a day for your birthday, wedding day, and moving day, as well as up to 1 day per quarter for you to volunteer
  • Sabbatical offered after 3 years service
  • Monthly wellness day (massage/ mindfulness/ meditation)
  • High-spec laptop and equipment
  • Flexible working
  • Hybrid remote and office based working. We trust you to get the work done - start late, finish late - we don't mind!
  • Lots of food perks like delicious product samplings and food discounts from our customers
  • Great exposure and ability to impact a fast-growing, mission-driven food start-up
