We honor the dignity and individualism of each member of our organization while fostering professionalism and continuous improvement in our work.SALARY: The salary range for this position is $50,815.18 to $83,252.20 for Schedule A, and $50,815.18 to $79,089.59 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth.The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated professional with demonstrated administrative skills and extreme attention to detail to work for the Disciplinary Review Board (the DRB), under the supervision of Chief Counsel to the DRB. The individual will primarily support Chief Counsel in attorney discipline matters and must work efficiently in an often fast-paced environment.As the primary professional responsible for the timely processing of DRB disciplinary matters, the position performs crucial drafting and editing functions while interacting with the Members of the DRB and other Supreme Court agencies, including the Office of the Supreme Court Clerk, the Office of Attorney Ethics, and the Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, including the preparation and distribution of monthly agendas and system reports. Moreover, the position will be tasked with supporting staff attorneys in their preparation of pre-hearing memoranda and decisions; in each disciplinary matter, preparing a digital copy of the record, with pertinent bookmarks, for use by assigned attorney; under the direction of Chief Counsel and First Assistant Counsel to the DRB, maintaining and revising specific templates for internal use.The position will have responsibility for facilitating monthly DRB meetings; compiling and revising reports for private and public hearing schedules, agenda and minutes of previous meeting; setting up Supreme Court and conference room for oral arguments and deliberations; obtaining required security coverage; preparing bench and conference room with DRB materials; operating CourtSmart and making real-time decisions with Chief Counsel during oral arguments; obtaining transcription of all DRB arguments; coordinating parking and appointments for new/to renew credentials for all DRB members; clearing the DRB’s servers and uploading cases for the new month; maintaining the DRB’s financial accounts. The selected individual will also be responsible for transmitting consent and admonition decisions directly to the Supreme Court; maintaining accurate distribution and committee member lists; and monitoring DRB member term expirations and preparing necessary documents for reappointment.The individual also must be adept at handling walk-in inquiries, telephone calls, and correspondence. Additionally, the individual must learn and apply the Court Rules governing confidentiality of ethics matters and must constantly consider process and communication improvements that could positively evolve disciplinary programs for both attorneys and public users.REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.• Coordinating and scheduling the DRB’s annual calendar to avoid conflicts with courtroom, conference room, and holidays.• Drafting scheduling letters, public notices, and additional documents for attorney review.• Developing and coordinating training activities with administrative staff to improve workflow and processing.• Conducting professional development training of AS1 staff.• Operating CourtSmart and obtaining transcription of all DRB arguments.• Developing manuals, guides, or other materials.• Posting final orders of discipline and accompanying decisions to the DRB public website.• Assisting in developing the DRB’s annual budget and advising managers on personnel issues.• Assisting in planning implementation of new projects or programs.• Completing special projects/other duties as assigned.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Applicants who are approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.HOW TO APPLY:The NJ Judiciary requires all applicants to complete the application process fully and as instructed.
