Consumer Scheduler

New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Location: Southfield

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or other full-time equivalent.

Reports To: Clinical Director / Associate Director of Prescriber Scheduling / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly Employee; $17-$18/hour. Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: The Consumer Scheduler position is a full-time position that provides centralized scheduling and calendar review for all routine and non-routine medical services. In addition, this position may support clerical, record keeping, and/or other miscellaneous duties in support of consumer care. The position will require working closely with clinical and administrative staff and consumers to ensure efficient service delivery.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Schedules and reschedules all routine and non-routine medical services for all New Oakland locations.
  • Reviews calendars to ensure scheduling efficiency.
  • Assists with appointment confirmations when needed.
  • Possesses a customer-service forward attitude and performs duties in a polite and professional manner.
  • Relays messages accurately and timely.
  • Documents in the EMR system/calendar as required.
  • Attends trainings and meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Staff are to always dress professionally per Employee Handbook. Staff will need to be prepared to be actively involved with consumers.

High school graduate or equivalent. One to two years of clerical or scheduling experience. Must be able to work well with all types of people including children.
