Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News is seeking a full-time Associate Reporter for coverage on New York current events. You will be expected to report and write compelling news and feature stories, using data to spot trends and inform narratives.

Primary day-to-day responsibilities will include a mix of researching, writing and editing about various topics such as politics and policy, health, education and the economy. The ability to handle multiple short-term and longer-term assignments, while meeting tight deadlines, is key. In addition, this role will collaborate with others across the organization to support production, audience development and other efforts. You should be comfortable manipulating and analyzing complex data and describing the results in a way that is understandable to a general audience.

This full-time position requires news reporting and writing experience; the ability to identify, sort and manipulate in-house and third-party data sets; a knack for spotting and telling human interest stories; and a rigorous commitment to accuracy.

The position is based out of our New York, New York office. Candidates must be NY- Based and open to working hybrid from our New York office.
