Community & Government Affairs Representative

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is looking for a Community and Government Affairs Representative to support their mission as an authoritative source of bulk electric system information.

Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
Understanding of the political and policy landscape in New York State

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key community and business organizations, trade groups, elected officials, policymakers, and opinion leaders.
Assist in the development and execution of an annual outreach and engagement program.
Engage with federal, state, and local elected officials regarding impacts on the electric system and industry market participants.
Work on government affairs activities and legislative outreach programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Marketing or Political Science (Master’s degree preferred)
