This position is responsible for development, communication, and service needs for our Clients, and for retaining high-touch, complex accounts through robust relationship management. 

 

Newfront's Retirement Services team is among the best in the country, providing advisory services to some of the Bay Area's fastest growing companies. This position is a salaried, exempt and full-time role and will be reporting to the practice leader or their delegate. This is a US Hybrid/Remote role, with the option to work from any of Newfront’s offices. #LI-Remote 


What You’ll Be doing: 


Deliver best in class client service
  • Independently manage a minimum of seventy-five(75) accounts.  Anticipate client needs.  Drive retention and identify opportunities for up-sell. 
  • Build strong relationships with primary client contacts.  Ensure day-to-day needs are met. Conduct regular check-in meetings with clients.   
  • Prepare regular investment plan review materials.  Partner with producer to define agendas; coordinate required materials.​ 
  • Take ownership for accuracy and completeness of overall client documentation (ex: meeting minutes, amendments, etc.).  Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.  


Elevate the end-to-end client experience
  • Manage client project plans and lead client calls.  ​Coordinate vendor, internal, and client resources to ensure successful operation of retirement plans, including plan amendments, plan operations, and compliance tasks. 
  • Take ownership of situation and exercise discretion in determining the appropriate escalation protocol 


Be a master collaborator:
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure successful execution of client deliverables and target Service Level Agreements (SLAs).  Be a team player and contribute to a culture of growth. 
  • Proactively identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.  Develop and implement strategies to optimize team performance and achieve client success 
  • Collaborate with other Account Manager and Account Executives on improvements to elevate clients' experience.  Share best practices and ways to contribute to team success. 


Keep your finger on the pulse of the retirement industry
  • Learn the retirement plan business and find ways to become a client service expert. 
  • Work with vendors to stay current and strategic regarding services, pricing, capabilities, etc

What you will bring to the table:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  Ability to communicate across stakeholders and levels.  Excel at taking complex concepts and articulating simply. 
  • Strong project and task management skill set with an ability to prioritize. 
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to navigate demanding schedules, priorities and high volumes. 
  • Strong ability to partner and collaborate with peers and leaders. 
  • Proficient with MS Office and other productivity tools.  Be tech forward with a willingness to innovate, disrupt, and learn new tools. 
  • Thrive at working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Adaptable and flexible, capable of pivoting in response to changing priorities and needs.  Excellent at multi-tasking and ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Have a growth mindset and be a continuous learner and be passionate for retirement and a desire to stay abreast of industry developments. 
  • Ability to forge relationships and build trust with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Maintain knowledge of major industry components by reading industry publications and attending conferences. 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • General understanding of retirement plan laws and regulations. 
  • Understanding of retirement plan annual compliance testing and Form 5500 filings. 
  • Experience consulting on impact of corporate mergers and acquisitions on retirement plans. 
  • General understanding of retirement plan design, features, and best practices. 
  • CFA, CFP, QKA, other financial designations a plus. 


Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • Series 65 License (preferred or completed within 1 month of start date). 


$55,000 - $65,000 a year

The pay range for this position in California, Washington, Colorado and New York at commencement of employment is expected to be between $55,000 and $65,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
