We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Freelance Copy Editor to join our team. As a Copy Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of written content. The ideal candidate should possess a keen eye for detail, excellent grammar and language skills, and the ability to enhance the overall readability and coherence of various types of content. This position offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of clients.

Role and Responsibilities

• Proofreading and Editing:
• Review and edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style errors.
• Ensure consistency in language, tone, and style throughout various types of content.
• Correct and enhance sentence structure, clarity, and coherence.

• Fact-Checking:
• Verify the accuracy of facts, statistics, and references in written material.
• Cross-check information to ensure credibility and reliability.

• Style Guide Adherence:
• Follow established style guides and ensure that content aligns with specified guidelines.
• Adapt to different writing styles and tone based on client requirements.

Role Requirements

• Proven experience as a copy editor or similar role.
• Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago, MLA)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using editing tools and software.
