Our leadership team has helped scale multi-billion dollar companies from scratch including Samsara, Rubrik, Acko & Flexport, and includes industry veterans from Hiscox, AIG, The Hartford & RLI.About the role:As a Fleet Underwriting Manager at Nirvana, you will have the opportunity to lead and scale a team of experienced Underwriters while executing on a growth strategy that prioritizes profitability. Your passion for developing talent, training staff, and creating meaningful engagement while achieving goals will be keys to your success.Nirvana has a globally distributed workforce. Our ideal candidate will be based in the Eastern or Central time zone.What you’ll do:• Leading and engaging a team of 4-6 experienced Underwriters Collaborate with Business Development team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets• Interact with key external partners including agents and brokers• Manage team workflow including referral setting and authority• Partner with leadership team to deliver strategies and projects necessary for long term innovationAbout you:• 7-10 years of Underwriting experience, minimum of 3 years in people management• Proven success Underwriting in the transportation sector, preferably trucking• Experience managing a distributed team is a plus• Comfort setting and executing against team goals• Strong communication skills, both written & verbal• Thorough critical thinker who isn’t afraid to make decisions• Successfully able to work in high-growth & ambiguous start-up environments• Willingness to travel as neededBenefits:• Competitive salary & equity• Medical, dental & vision insurance• 401k with company match• Unlimited PTO• Work from home friendly
