What You'll Do
  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, promoting best practices in both manual and automated testing.
  • Assign projects, manage team performance, and ensure timely delivery of quality assurance goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the QA team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to support career development.
Process Optimization & Gap Analysis:
  • Analyze existing QA processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement to enhance overall quality and productivity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline QA workflows, optimizing time, resources, and testing coverage.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of quality engineering processes and drive improvement initiatives.
Test Planning, Execution & Automation:
  • Oversee the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts across web and mobile applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Drive the integration of automation into testing processes, collaborating with development and DevOps teams to implement robust, scalable automated testing solutions within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead efforts to adopt and expand automation frameworks, tools, and practices that improve test reliability, reduce manual testing, and accelerate release cycles.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality standards, requirements, and project timelines.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure QA efforts are effectively integrated within the Agile workflow.
  • Act as a point of contact for quality-related discussions, providing regular updates, insights, and reports on project status, risks, and QA metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Documentation & Best Practices:
  • Establish and maintain standardized QA documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and QA processes, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.
  • Promote QA best practices, including secure coding practices, testing automation, and testing strategies that enhance application reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in quality assurance, ensuring Macy’s QA practices are continuously evolving.


What You Know
  • 8+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or lead role within a digital or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong experience with both manual and automated testing, including test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST-assured).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation scripting.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and DevOps practices, with experience in integrating automated tests into pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience managing projects in an Agile environment.


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field

Compensation Band
  • $110-115k per year
