We bring the world together with our fries.Job Description SummaryThis role is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role to drive North American trade compliance and support the Sr Manager Trade Compliance to enhance and maximize the efficiency of our trade operations and compliance activities globally.•The Manager Trade Compliance will provide guidance to drive adherence to global trade compliance of all importation and exportation of goods across the globe.•Serve as a trade operations subject matter expert providing support and guidance, assist in developing and deploying procedures, training requirements, and cross-functional coaching, as well as assist in the development and implementation of internal policies.•Work closely with internal leadership and stakeholder teams to drive improvements in strategy, processes, and technology to align with company goals and guidelines, and applicable regulations.•You will use discretion and independent judgement to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers and suppliers to deliver on service and continuous improvement with the goal of statutory compliance and operational productivity.Job Description• Ensure trade activities are fully compliant with import/export, customs, and trade sanction policies, procedures, and regulations in the countries where Lamb Weston operates.• Validation and processing of import entries consisting of cross border transactions, related party imports, and equipment.• Oversight of systems, governance, and data for trade activities, e.g. SAP, GTS, Descartes, SharePoint• Conduct analysis of and create and maintain guidelines for export requirements and importing country requirements of food products, and products containing dairy and meat ingredients.• Management of record keeping requirements for audit compliance.• Review Sanctioned Party blocks and conduct enhanced due diligence on business partners where appropriate, including independent research and analysis of supporting documentation.• Show initiative implementing measures to eradicate identified weaknesses and ineffective processes to refine and improve internal and external compliance Support cross-functional teams in the development, implementation, and utilization of standardized import/export operations and compliance manual and related procedures.• Determination of proper classifications, valuation, and country of origin, and qualification of Free Trade Agreements, special trade provisions/claims, or other duty savings opportunities.• Ensure appropriate licensing and export authorization of products/services are in place, records are maintained in compliance with all governing regulatory requirements, and activities demonstrate reasonable care.• Implement and maintain trade compliance KPIs and metrics.• Development of training to relevant departments to maintain updated awareness of trade requirements and changes.• Conduct periodic due diligence and compliance checks on daily import and export transactions and liaise appropriately to develop remediation plans to address deficiencies.• Assist with internal trade compliance audits to assess business risk, implement process improvements, and report findings to leadership.• Conduct annual review of harmonized tariff and commodity classification for all imported/exported goods.• Conduct periodic internal trade procedural assessments to ensure procedures are consistently applied.• Work directly with Trade Operations team to ensure all functional requirements are met.• Perform other duties as assigned.Basic & Preferred Qualifications• Bachelor's degree or similar in a relevant field (International Affairs, Business and Trade, Logistics, etc.)• Minimum of 10 years of experience directly related to operational import AND export or regulatory compliance in the food industry with FDA, USDA, CBP, CBSA requirements.• US Customs Broker License is a plus.• Experience with food and agricultural import/export complexities, and importing/exporting from multiple ports of entry.• Extensive knowledge of supply chain/logistics processes, international trade systems, and associated software• Extensive working knowledge and experience applying international customs and import/export control laws and regulations.• Ability to translate complex laws and regulations into policies that are relevant for our business and understandable to functions in different professional and hierarchical levels of the organization.• Extensive experience in the requirements for and management of trade related documentation• Ability to systematically collect, arrange, and report compliance documentation.• Working knowledge of Foreign Trade and U.S. customs regulations, harmonized tariff classifications, export control classification, applicability of free trade agreements and rules of origin.• Demonstrated ability to focus on project work and efficiently bring projects to completion.• Ability to travel to other sites to provide operational and compliance training and assistance.• Skilled in root cause analysis and ability to gather and make inferences of data under analysis and identify trends in operational statistics or financial records.• Excellent time-management, planning, and organizational skills with
