This Role
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Norm Ai, you will architect and build a reliable, scalable, and performant infrastructure for our rapidly evolving AI-driven compliance platform. You will work closely with our software engineering and product teams to deliver enterprise grade software solutions to the world's largest regulated institutions. You will be a key voice in strategic discussions around our infrastructure, bringing insights and recommendations to drive our technology decisions and product evolution.In this role, you will:
- Design and build enterprise-grade infrastructure from the ground up to meet rapidly increasing demands.
- Implement fault-tolerant and resilient design patterns to minimize service disruptions
- Build and maintain automation tools and CI/CD pipelines to streamline processes and improve reliability
- Create systems to support a growing set of enterprise requirements on our platform, including robust permissioning, authentication, logging, and auditability.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
- Manage and scale our cloud infrastructure across providers like AWS, GCP and Azure
- Implement monitoring systems to proactively identify issues and anomalies in production
- Work closely with product engineering teams to enable rapid adoption of Norm Ai solutions.
Skills & Experience - Core
- 4+ years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure engineer or similar role (e.g,. Reliability engineer, DevOps engineer, Backend engineer) in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling company
- Strong proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud native technologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- Comfort navigating enterprise requirements and API integrations.
- Proficiency in Python, Docker, and data storage technologies such as Postgres and Redis.
- Extensive experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github Actions.
Skills & Experience - Pluses
- Experience in AI/ML infrastructure and tooling
- Background working on complex compliance or regulatory systems
- Familiarity with serverless architectures.
- Familiarity or experience navigating common Enterprise requirements such as SAML, SSO, 17a-4, etc…

Norm Ai Integration: Rapidly familiarize yourself with Norm Ai's existing AWS infrastructure, architecture, and the unique challenges of our AI-driven compliance solutions.
Best Practices Audit: Conduct a thorough review of our current infrastructure and processes. Identifying, scope, and prioritize areas for improvement and alignment with industry best practices and enterprise requirements
Monitoring & Alerting: Implement essential monitoring and alerting systems to provide visibility into the health and performance of our infrastructure
60 days
Infrastructure as Code: Begin transitioning our infrastructure to an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) model using tools like Terraform, enabling version control, repeatability, and easier scalability.
CI/CD Optimizations: Streamline and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, more reliable deployments and better collaboration with the development team.
Scalability Roadmap: Develop a comprehensive roadmap for scaling our infrastructure to support our growing user base and anticipated future needs, including potential transition to a distributed system architecture.
Incident Response Process: Establish a robust incident response process and on-call rotation to ensure prompt resolution of production issues and minimize downtime.
Location:
This role is open to remote candidates but we also welcome those who would like to relocate to the NYC metro area (we will help cover the expense) – our office is in WTC 7 downtown. Remote candidates must be based in the U.S. and can make quarterly week-long visits to our NYC office.
