The Quality Engineer is responsible for dressing orders to ensure North Star BlueScope Steel meets customer and industry specifications. Responsibilities may include developing new or modifying existing steel grades for production to expand North Star BlueScope Steel’s market, implementing cost-savings measures, maintaining business systems about this role and interacting with sales/customers to ensure that North Star BlueScope steel meets all customer requirements.

As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that our steel products meet customer and industry specifications—making your contribution vital to our success. You’ll have the chance to review and dress mill orders, assisting in the creation of new steel grades to help expand our market footprint. Reporting on trials to support product development will be part of your day-to-day duties, as will maintaining material specifications and rolling codes for our entire steel product line. You'll also enjoy collaborating with other departments and customers, responding to inquiries and ensuring that our products align with industry standards. We’re particularly interested in candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Engineering or a related technical field and at least two years of experience in manufacturing. Strong communication and data analysis skills are key, and a genuine self-starter attitude will help you shine in our fast-paced environment. If you have more than five years in the steel industry and a proven track record of safety and quality improvement, you could be the perfect fit!
