Business Systems Analyst

About the Opportunity

The Business Systems Analyst collaborates with key stakeholders across multiple enterprise systems in both University Advancement and throughout the Northeastern University Global Systems.  Systems include, but are not limited to Salesforce.com, ascend, Slate, TrustArc, Cvent and Workday. This role demonstrates an expansive knowledge of these systems including daily operations, integrations and back-end system administration. They will analyze and guide Advancement businesses and teams to improve business processes and efficiency. They elicit, document, and analyze requirements around business challenges and then produce data-driven solutions.  This role also supports all technical development (both system enhancements and technical bugs) for ascend, the University Advancement CRM solution.

This role manages the Advancement Technology Coordinator.

This role is responsible for ascend system upgrades in production, development and UAT environments.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for guiding, overseeing and supporting colleagues who also do Salesforce/ascend development and provide QA support for their work. They will manage, analyze and implement vendor release notes making recommendations to the Advancement Technology senior team for implementation.

Investigate data quality issues and communicate findings and propose technical solutions to relevant stakeholders including the Advancement Technology senior team. Manage a team of colleagues for all data uploads to systems ensuring proper file formatting and auditing of all uploads.

Duties

  • Serves as subject matter expert on Advancement systems to the full University understanding the connection of all systems connecting with Salesforce.com and ascend. These systems consist of but are not limited to University Enterprise Systems: Salesforce single view org, Slate, Banner, Workday and Snowflake.
  • Daily analysis of overall system health of Salesforce.com and ascend. 
  • Ensure continuous process improvement, integrity, documentation, and compliance standards are met.
  • Perform analysis and research on system changes and provide implementation recommendations based on business requirements.
  • Work with Advancement functional users to analyze business requirements and provide recommendations for enhanced Salesforce and ascend functionality.
  • Manage colleagues processing data uploads.  Audit and document procedures.
