Opportunities for remotework are rare.Job DescriptionThis position operates cameras and related equipment in theproduction of video stories, brand-building videos and eventcoverage to produce messaging assets for marketing. The person inthis position has an acute awareness of NAU brand standards so theycan incorporate those standards in their work coordinating,shooting, editing and delivering NAU video assets.Production - 75%• Coordinates the production of University Marketing videos• Executes technical and creative decisions regarding elementssuch as appropriate lighting, camera locations and audioneeds.• Shoots, lights and records sound on video shoots with a highlevel of expertise, and an eye toward cinematic production.• Researches to find the best subjects possible to craftdifferent brand messaging that showcases different aspects of theuniversity.• Shoots, edits and produces in a manner that maintains clearquality control and brand standards.Creative Team Maintenance/Teambuilding - 20%• Manages and maintains video equipment.• Mentors and works with student workers and part time studentsand assistants.• Utilizes current software to maintain video projects in digitalarchive.Other - 5%• Perform other duties as assigned.Work EnvironmentThis position works in both indoor and outdoor on- and off- campuslocations. Several times of traveling within the state, U.S., andinternationally per fiscal year for photo and video shoots; whichsometimes require physically carrying heavy photo and videoequipment on outdoor trails while hiking, and overnight camping ina remote outdoor environment. This position also requiresrelatively frequent overtime during non-work hours, includingweekends.Minimum Qualifications• Bachelors degree in creative media and film or relevantfield.• 2-4 years relevant experience.• Any combination of relevant education and experience may besubstituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-yearbasis.Preferred Qualifications• Drone Experience with FAA Part 107 Licensing.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge• Intermediate knowledge of professional audio editing,post-production procedures, techniques, and standards as theyrelate to marketing.• Intermediate knowledge of proper use of professional cameras,lighting, audio equipment, and other devices or equipment.• Intermediate knowledge of organizational and project managementpractices and principles.• Intermediate knowledge of university policies related tomarketing videos.Skills• Planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities andestablishing priorities.• Records maintenance.• Visualizing and shooting brand concepts effectively.• Video production.• Proficient in video production software and digital assetmanagement systems.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,PowerPoint).Abilities• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and performs repairs toaudio and video equipment.• Planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities andestablishing priorities.• Balances competing priorities.• Communicates effectively.• Problem solving, organizational, and analyticalcapabilities.• Promotes a diverse, inclusive environment.Background InformationThis position has been identified as a safety/security sensitiveposition. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern ArizonaUniversity requires satisfactory results for the following: acriminal background investigation, employment historyinvestigation, degree verification (in some cases) andfingerprinting. In addition, theFire Safety Report is combined with the AnnualSecurity Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as thiscampus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses firesafety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housingand statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. Annual salarycommensurate with candidate's qualifications and relatedexperience.FLSA StatusThis position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the FairLabor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime orcompensatory time for additional time worked.BenefitsThis is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. NAU offers an excellentbenefit package including generous health, dental and visioninsurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System;paid vacation and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction foremployees and qualified dependents.
