Job Description

The Sterilizing Supervisor/Instructor reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine (NM), adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists department manager with day-to-day operations.
  • Responsibilities include the coordination of workload, supervises staff and problem solving.
  • Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department.
  • Works closely with leadership staff within Perioperative Services. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous hospital sterilizing department experience or equivalent
  • 3 year experience in Central Sterilizing department
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years' experience supervisory skills.
  • CERT SPDT
