Job Description
Key responsibilities:
Provide internal lab based bioanalytical support investigating the PK properties of low molecular weight and novel modality compounds.
Collaborate as a subject matter expert in bioanalysis with biotransformation, in vitro and in vivo colleagues, as well as chemists and biologists with project teams.
SSII, PSI: Independently conceives experiments that implement project strategy
PSI: Influences and drives projects using broad, up‐to‐date knowledge of a scientific/technical/development discipline or area of specialization
Provide mentorship and insights for junior associates to support method development for custom discovery PK and PKPD.
Implement technologies such as LC-MS/MS, LC- and FIA-ICP-MS, SFC-MS/MS or LC-HRMS.
Explore automation and software related solutions to increase workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with our CRO partners for special case custom BA method transfers to the CRO.
Comply with local and Novartis-specific rules and regulations.
Essential requirements:
SSII experience – B.S/ M.S (6-10 years) or PhD degree (0-1 year) of bioanalytical lab scientist in biotech or pharma industry.
PS I experience - B.S./M.S. (10-15 years) or PhD degree (1-3 years) of bioanalytical lab scientist in biotech or pharma industry.
SSII - Agility to independently perform high quality and fit-for-purpose bioanalysis within short timelines. Emerging scientific leader with good values and behaviors.
PSI - Agility to independently lead bioanalytical strategy for high quality and fit-for-purpose bioanalysis within short timelines, and mentor junior scientists. Emerging scientific leader with excellent values and behaviors.
Hands on experience in a variety of sample preparation (SPE, LLE, IMC etc.) and quantitative analytical methods for LC-MS (low- and high-resolution) is essential.
High motivation, curiosity and creativity and the ability to thrive in a matrixed work environment and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Good oral and written communication and presentation skills to communicate key results to internal teams; at the PSI level will also communicate with external teams
This is a dual level posting. The final level and title of the offer role would be determined by the hiring team based on the skills, experience & capabilities required to perform the role at the level the role has been offered.
Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between: $93,800 - $174,200/year at the SSII level and between $103,600 and $192,400/year at the PS I level; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
