Part - Time Consultant, MyCSN Oracle - FY 2025

Job Description

This position provides expert level technical support to the Office of Financial Aid and requires strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents; provide staff training; provide technical and practical assistance with student data and related systems.


Job description

  • Troubleshoot system issues

  • Review/research of CSN’s Office of Financial Aid (OFA) automated processes for efficiencies

  • Evaluate, Identify, and design improvements

  • Write documentation for each new process and each improvement

  • Review current business process guides and update

  • Aid year rollover updates prior to the PUM

  • Evaluate Oracle Product Update Management (PUM) Test Scripts

  • Evaluate and assess automated Satisfactory Academic Progress queries

  • Re-write OFA-IT queries that identify aid applicants who withdraw (officially and unofficially) and require aid recalculation.

  • Automate Return to Title IV recalculation process in MyCSN

  • Training of OFA systems staff on PeopleSoft computing systems

  • Assist with Aid year rollover, ISIR import, check listing, packaging, testing, job sets, job definitions, and write supporting documentation.

  • Query writing skills, analyzing datasets for errors

  • Equation Engine/SQL for equations

  • Meet with end users in OFA to review their practices and make recommendations

  • Query/report writing

  • Automation of system updates

  • Query development to assist with meeting program requirements

  • Return of Title IV requirements

  • Ad Hoc query writing for office priorities:

  • Ongoing reviewing of aid applications and updating management as needed

  • Department of Education error reporting: Disbursement Rejects, and adjustments

  • Dashboard queries for OFA management

  • Data collection for VP weekly/monthly reporting

  • Resolve Nevada Promise packaging issues

  • Review of annual reporting: IPEDs, NASGAP, FVT-GE

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience working in financial aid.

  • 5 years of experience writing enterprise-level queries in PeopleSoft analyzing Financial Aid data (e.g., Financial Aid Application, awarding data). These years may be within the 10 years of experience.
