Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics

ABOUT THIS JOB:  
Our Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics is responsible for driving Nulo’s tracking, measurement, goal-setting, and strategic reporting across domestic sales channels. This person partners with product, retail, and consumer marketing teams and across the business to deliver category, portfolio, and brand metrics to influence strategies and quantify future sources of growth rooted in consumer and customer insights. They will contribute to the development of the annual brand plan, leveraging consumer insights, competitive assessments, market trends, and technologies to ensure the vitality of the dog and cat food portfolios. A team player, this person collaborates closely with marketing leadership, product managers, digital marketing, and sales to understand current insights, predict future trends, and to identify the optimal strategies for the Nulo portfolio (including identifying white spaces).
 
 
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Be a natural pet specialty category expert, understanding the market, the customer, and the competition.
  • Partner with product, retail, and consumer marketing teams and across the business to deliver category, portfolio, and brand metrics to influence strategies and quantify future sources of growth rooted in consumer and customer insights.
  • Input to the commercial teams on channel strategy, identifying where in the trade landscape to best capture value.
  • Conduct consumer research to understand the landscape of needs, demand spaces, and occasions; evaluate our right to win through brand equity and brand health, shopper behavior, path to purchase and shelf navigation.
  • Build analytics to size future consumer value pools using foresights and occasion data and diagnose our ability to attract new households.
  • Contribute to a culture of effectiveness through activity-based performance management of ourselves and competition with precision.
  • Be embedded into performance rhythms to keep a finger on the pulse of the business and bring the right data and insight to enable agility in strategic and tactical course correction.
YOU ARE:
  • Responsible, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to lead the design, synthesis, and application of repeatable, scalable insights and analytical frameworks.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills required. Ideally, experience working with syndicated data.
  • Partners with category teams and across the business to deliver category, portfolio, and brand strategies to identify future category landscape and quantified future sources of growth rooted in consumer and customer insight.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing with excellence.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and focus on outcomes. 
  • Interpersonal skills and team player who empathically supports the cross functional team to commit to performance.
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • S./B.A. Marketing, Business or related field. M.S./MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in roles across functions in FMCG/CPG, retail, strategy consulting or agency, preferably within pet food or CPG.
  • Hands-on experience with the following – will be expected to jump in quickly with these skills:
    • Nielsen and Stackline Retail Sales data sources; household panel data
    • Designing and leading quantitative and qualitative consumer insight projects
    • Developing and deploying frameworks to maximize impact of qualitative and quantitative insights and data.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:         
  • If based in Austin (preferred), requires travel up to 10% of the time.
  • If based remotely, requires monthly travel to Nulo’s home office in Austin, TX.
  • In-person meetings at the discretion of the team lead and business needs.
