Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Data Platform

We are seeking an engineering leader for the Data Platform team to empower NVIDIA engineering teams with high efficiency data pipeline and visualization tools to keep up with the explosion of scale of data. This data platform is the backbone of all telemetry and application and user data for our CPU/GPU clusters, application observability, model training, inference, chip development, system and application health and other areas.
 

What you will be doing:

• Manage and build up a team of fullstack engineers and data pipeline architects that deliver scalable data services and infrastructure that powers the Data Platform and dependent applications.

• Work with end customers across the company to build a roadmap for the data planform that will meet their scaling needs.

• Collaborate with, leverage, and influence product teams from internal experiences.

• Actively work on project planning, scheduling and value/cost analysis for all engineering requests across multiple teams.

• Coordinate cross functional development with other business units.

• Establish team objectives for Data Platform and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

• Drive software engineering execution quality and standard processes.

• Solve reliability, efficiency, and productivity challenges for the Data Platform

• Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate organization.

• Connect with senior management for team vision and development progress.

What we need to see:

• BSEE, BSCS or equivalent experience and 15+ overall years of related work experience.

• Proven experience managing teams of 15+ engineers for 5+ years.

• Leadership experience, mentoring, and coaching skills for creating high performing teams.

• Able to build data infrastructure for telemetry products that support 100K+ GPU’s with near-realtime processing

• Familiar with OSS and cloud-based data infra technologies such as data lakes, data warehouses, etc.

• Experience designing a reference architecture for a data infra org.

• Strong collaboration skills across engineering, server, storage, and security teams.

• Depth of understanding of distributed, scalable and fault tolerant architectures.

The base salary range is 272,000 USD - 471,500 USD.
