NVIDIA is a publicly traded, multinational technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California. NVIDIA's invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined computer graphics, and ignited the era of modern AI.
Pros
During my time at NVidia, I found the company culture to be inclusive, fostering teamwork and creativity. The company constantly encourages innovation so that employees feel empowered to suggest or try new methods and new ideas. The leadership team embraces a "learnt from failures' mentality, creating a supportive environment for professional growth and development.Cons
There could be room for improvement in cross-departmental communication to streamline processes further.“We dedicate ourselves to building a just, decent, and inclusive company. We must be empathetic to the experience of underrepresented groups and act to make NVIDIA a place of opportunities. We do this because it is right and just, and we believe it will help make NVIDIA better.”
— Jensen Huang, CEO.
Unlimited Opportunities for All
We want to attract the world's best people who reflect different perspectives to help us deliver life-changing breakthroughs. We’ve adapted our processes to let candidates meet with employees from their representative communities during their interview process, write more inclusive job descriptions, and boost our social inclusivity globally.
Through our allyship program, we train our people to unlock the power of diversity and inclusion and take action to help others succeed. We strive to create an environment where underrepresented groups feel empowered and provide hands-on training and encourage internal mobility through coaching, mentorship, and feedback, to support employee growth and advancement.
Pay Parity
To ensure pay parity, defined as no statistically significant differences in compensation based on gender, race, or ethnicity, we’ve used a third-party firm to analyze our pay practices for gender, race, and ethnicity across 75 dimensions, including rating, education, years of experience, job function, family, and level each year since 2015. We’ve achieved pay parity for several years and plan to continue.
Community Resource Groups
Our community resource groups (CRGs) have an essential role in the NVIDIA experience–from leading celebrations to advocacy–and are integral to building an inclusive culture. NVIDIA supports nine CRGs and support groups for neurodiversity, caregivers, and working parents. These CRGs include Asian Pacific Islander & Allies, Black NVIDIAN Network, Early Career Network, Hispanic-Latino Network, NV Pride, NVIDIA Disability Network, South Asians & Allies, Veterans @ NVIDIA, and Women in Technology.
Community Partnerships
We tap into diverse student organizations on several university campuses, including Minority Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). We also work with Black in AI, Black Tech Nation, Color Stack, the National GEM Consortium, and Qwaser to provide training opportunities for black communities.
