NYSTCE Tutor

The NYSTCE tutor position will provide specific tutoring in small groups no more than 6 specifically for the ELA portion of the NYSTCE (New York State Teacher Certification Exam). Part 1 of the multiple subject exam has an above average failure rate amongst NYCTF and PT (New York City Teaching Fellows and Partner Teachers).

Position Duties
  • Tutor will meet with target students on an ongoing basis in order to deconstruct the NYSTCE as well as develop general test taking strategies for successfully taking this exam.
  • Tutor will meet small groups offering multiple 1-2 hour sessions in order to allow for all students in need to attend. Currently, we have 75-100 students who struggle to pass this specific exam.
  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
Experience in tutoring post secondary students with various background, strong background, and knowledge of English Language arts and acquisition.

Work Hours
Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor.

Salary Range
$50 - $50
