GENERAL DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
This role will embrace a world of innovation and utilize Salesforce. They will assist in the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce applications and solutions; collaborate with senior developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications; develop and configure workflows, forms, and reports in the Salesforce platform; and conduct testing and quality assurance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
This role will be responsible for learning how to customize, develop, and use the Salesforce application. They will customize Salesforce applications to meet specific business needs and requirements; work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and identify areas of improvement; implement enhancements to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement; and continuously explore new features and functionalities offered on the Salesforce platform.
This role will learn incident resolution and support in Salesforce. They will provide support and troubleshooting assistance for Salesforce applications; identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations; collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve system incidents; and document resolutions and maintain an organized knowledge base.

Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule. Telework schedules are permitted for employees based on the agency’s approved Telework Plan (if schedule does not adversely affect operations and service levels, and standard hours of operation are maintained).
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Programmer I
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
One year of experience with programming concepts and experience with programming languages, such as JavaScript or Java; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for years of experience.
Knowledge or exposure to web development technologies, like HTML or CSS
Skill or willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and coding languages
Skill in problem solving, in critical thinking, in programming, in the use of hardware and software, and in modifying or developing software for applications
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in effective communication
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Ability to demonstrate and act upon a passion for digital transformation and drive to make a difference as a public servant working high priority projects and work under the Applications Development Team
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional environment
Ability to work in person at an OAG work location, if needed
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel, if needed
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
Ability to lift and relocate 10 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 5%
Programmer II – All of the above, plus:
An additional year of full-time software development or programming experience, preferably in the Salesforce platform or with adjacent technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
Experience in the IT field, with agile methodologies, or working on IT projects
Knowledge of programming languages and demonstrated experience coding
Knowledge of Salesforce and/or low-code technology platforms
