Solutions Engineer

Observable is redefining how businesses create and share data apps by giving developers the tools they need to create their best dashboards, applications, and reports. Our open-source Framework allows developers to build dashboards locally while our secure hosting service makes it easy for teams to share data apps and discover deeper insights together. We have a large community of data practitioners who love Observable, and we are building on this success to bring Observable to more teams and businesses of all sizes.

Observable is seeking a solutions engineer to build data applications with customers, contribute to our internal business intelligence, and demonstrate the art of the possible with Framework.

• Demo the Observable product suite, showing what’s possible in web development, data visualization, data analysis and data science with our tools.
• Help customers succeed by helping them to build their first Observable applications, from prototype to production.
• Work on internal business intelligence to both help answer business questions and improve visualization and analysis skills.
• Build public examples to showcase Framework and make it easy for others to replicate them.

• This role relies heavily on using Observable Framework, though experience with React or Svelte is helpful.
• Visualization: D3, Observable Plot, Mosaic, Deck.gl
• Databases: Snowflake, Airbyte, dbt, Postgres
• Code: Node, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Python, R

• 8+ years building data applications with code
• An enthusiasm for data, visualization, and technology
