About the Team:

 

As the Director of Human Resources, you will be a part of the Legal & HR team at Obsidian and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Obsidian by helping build our people strategy, including designing and executing talent development, compensation, and performance management initiatives. Reporting to the General Counsel & Head of HR, you will collaborate with executives and people leaders to address people-related challenges and opportunities, including talent management, succession planning, compensation issues, employee relations, and day-to-day HR strategy questions.

 

About the Role:

 

As the Director of HR, you will:

 

  • Design and roll out people-related programs that align with the company’s objectives and culture.
  • Collaborate with people leaders and executives to address people-related challenges and opportunities, such as talent management, succession planning, compensation issues, and employee relations.
  • Lead the development of people processes, policies, and strategies to support the company's scaling efforts and foster a positive work environment.
  • Partner with current HR team members and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and business goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, empowering employees to reach their full potential.

 

About You:

 

You may be a great fit for the Director of HR role if you:

 

  • Have 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on advising people leaders and designing and implementing people-related programs;
  • Have excellent judgment, business acumen, and the ability to effectively collaborate with leaders on people-related issues;
  • Have a well-rounded HR background with exposure to a variety of HR functions.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach where possible, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Have excellent EQ, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization;
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, with experience in scaling companies a plus.

  • Base Pay Range: $160,000 - $190,000 per year

 

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.
