Candidates should be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical pathology and be board certified or eligible (by start date) in Hematopathology.Ochsner Health is an integrated healthcare system with more than 38,000 employees and over 4,700 employed and affiliated physicians in over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. It operates 46 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Southeastern United States. The department of pathology and laboratory medicine New Orleans region is comprised of 36 pathologist and 2 PhD’s. Annual volumes include approximately 95,000 surgical cases, 65,000 cytology cases and 1800 bone marrows. The department supports the region’s busiest bone marrow, CAR-T and solid organ transplant programs.Position Highlights:• Location: New Orleans, LA• This position will grow Ochsner’s hematopathology team to 6 individuals• Duties include: bone marrow and lymph node sign out, hematopathology consultation, flow cytometry sign out, clinical pathology responsibilities, medical directorship responsibilities, tumor board• General schedule: 8-5 Monday-Friday.
