Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers.  We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for the more than 100 million daily logins around the world. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.

CIC’s Platform App Services team owns foundational services that protect the Platform’s stability and improve operational efficiency for our product services. We use a modern cloud-native tech stack that runs on AWS and Azure. We’ve adopted frameworks, tooling, and practices that optimize for developer productivity and joy.

What you’ll be doing

• Contribute to the development of new services, tools and automation that address cross-cutting concerns such as caching, message-passing, rate-limiting, and feature-flagging.
• Work with engineers across the organization to integrate tooling into the Okta CIC service ecosystem.
• Discover and advocate for new technologies to accelerate improvements in the reliability and scalability of the Okta CIC platform.
• Carry cross-team initiatives from end to end: code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, security hygiene, etc.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation. 

 What you’ll bring to the role

• Have 3-5 years of software development experience.
• Are proficient in Golang, Typescript, or Node.
• Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP and HTTP fundamentals.
• Have experience working with Redis, MongoDB, Kafka and/or PostgreSQL.
• Deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions.
• Have a passion and interest to work on systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable and secure.
• Bring the right attitude to the team: ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus.
• Are comfortable working on a fully-distributed team.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

• Familiarity with gRPC.
• Have an understanding of Kubernetes and containerization.
• Have experience deploying solutions to AWS and/or Azure.
