The Health and Life Sciences Practice
The HLS practice mission is to “transform healthcare through the relentless pursuit of a better way.” The team works with C-suite and senior executives and management teams across the health and life sciences industry, including Health Insurance, Health Services, Retail and Consumer Health, Healthcare Providers, Health IT, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device and Diagnostics companies, on wide-ranging issues of strategic impact. We help our clients define a road map for future growth and optimize performance of their current operations. In addition, we operate the Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Center (OWHIC) to develop and promote market-driven solutions to the crisis of high cost and poor quality that afflicts the healthcare systems of the developed world. Based on the deep healthcare expertise of Oliver Wyman and drawing on a network of innovative leaders across industries, OWHIC identifies and disseminates the ideas and practices that will transform healthcare. Role
Provides day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process within those relationships, teaming with Partners and shares responsibility for the success of a specific engagement(s).
Leads and manages complex programs to ensure on-time delivery that meets agreed upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practice, their own expertise and the firm’s technical competence.
Guides and influences clients in an informed way across all situations including execution of the commercial process, becoming trusted advisors.
Engages fully in building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities.
Creates exciting and additive intellectual capital through their thought leadership, and are knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics.
Develops others and builds a followership as part of their asset building for the firm.
Leads firm building activities, seen as a role model for firm values with a strong personal brand within and outside of the firm and are well regarded by Partners, peers, and clients
