Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types.

Your primary focus as Group Leader will be driving the team's success by effectively managing and engaging in projects and fostering strong client relationships. You will play a vital role in developing and empowering team members, ensuring their professional growth and high-performance standards. This involves providing daily management and leadership, guiding the team in prioritizing projects, managing the team's financials for profitability, and maintaining open communication with team members about project, team, and firm initiatives. You will also lead the succession planning process, work on project management and quality control, participate in advisory or committee roles for external professional organizations, oversee marketing efforts for repeat clients and local opportunities, and collaborate with business development staff to pursue additional client opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and manages the group’s project performance and employee utilization and workload, identifying potential areas of improvement and implementing plans to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversees project management, quality control, and project execution with the group to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Encourages professional development for employees by helping them identify individual goals, outlining performance expectations, recognizing accomplishments, and providing productive and consistent feedback.
  • Communicates with group members regularly to keep the group informed and aware of initiatives, goals, and objectives within the group and team to ensure accountability.
  • Ensures high client service orientation through consistent and effective communication with clients.
  • Oversees marking efforts for repeat clients and coordination with business development on new client pursuits, including client strategy, proposal process, interviewing, and selection efforts within the group.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Loveland, CO, Denver, CO or Colorado Springs, CO office location.  Ability to travel between these locations is required.

Qualifications

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience of relevant engineering experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience supervising others.
  • General understanding of Civil 3d.

Typical range for this position is $122,000 to $168,000+ and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
