The Opportunity
The Online Peer Tutor supports student learning by clarifying and reinforcing academic content and modeling effective study skills. Tutors employ learning strategies to synthesize information and foster independent and successful learners. The Online Peer Tutor role within Academic Support supports students through a variety of modalities including 1:1 support, small group sessions, and educational workshops.
Schedule Requirement: 15-19 hours/week, 4 hours/weekend
In this Role You'll Get To:

Engage in and model Academic Support’s non-directive, reciprocal peer tutoring model

Create and maintain a consistent weekly tutoring schedule (15-19 hrs. per week required) each term

Develop a strong understanding of SNHU supports and resources

Participate in initial and ongoing role-specific training to maximize effectiveness with students
-
Deliver learner support in any and all modalities of the Academic Support Center— 1:1 appointments and group experiences like Workshops to provide on-demand support related to the online student experience

Positively impact retention and success of online students by providing exceptional student support and encouraging engaging learning experiences.

Maintain confidentiality of all student records and information shared during tutoring sessions

Conduct your work shifts in a dedicated, quiet environment with reliable internet access.
What we're Looking For:

Continued or previous successful enrollment in an Online Undergraduate or Graduate Program with SNHU Global Campus (candidate must be a current SNHU student or recent graduate)

Attendance, punctuality, reliability, consistent communication with managers and colleagues and professionalism are essential functions of this role

Dedicated, quiet environment with reliable internet access

Completed at least five courses at SNHU within your major (15 credits)

3.5 cumulative GPA

Excellent oral and written communication skills
