Job Description

To support our university partners reach a diverse national audience, OUA has expanded the utilisation of our marketing services, providing a complementary channel for student acquisition and enhancing their national reach. The Business Development Manager plays a key role in expanding the range of programs available on our marketplace, improving student choice and ensuring we offer programs that meet marketplace demand.

Your primary responsibility is to enable more universities to leverage OUA’s services by identifying, developing, and converting new partnership opportunities. Working closely with the Head of Partnerships & Portfolio, you will create and execute a 12-month partner acquisition plan, targeting both existing partners and universities that are not yet part of OUA’s network.

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day

  • Identifying new university partners and programs that align with OUA’s marketing services.
  • Collaborating with the Partner Success Team to identify growth opportunities within our Marketing Services partners.
  • Working with internal teams to design compelling proposals and pitches that address partner needs and showcase the value of OUA’s offerings.
  • Leading the negotiation process from initial outreach to signed agreements, ensuring alignment with OUA’s growth objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of higher education trends and market shifts and utilising the insights to influence new partnership opportunities.
  • Providing feedback to OUA’s product development and marketing teams to help anticipate market demands and exceed partner expectations.

If you’re ready to make an impact, here’s what we’re looking for

  • Opportunity Development: Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities, with a strategic focus on converting leads into long-term partnerships.
  • Conversion Expertise: Demonstrated success in taking potential partnerships from initial discussions to signed agreements, utilising commercial acumen to structure mutually beneficial deals.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders, translating partner needs into actionable growth strategies.
  • Marketing and Sales Acumen: Experience working with senior marketing and student recruitment teams to identify and leverage marketing opportunities that support partner success.
  • Commercial Focus: Strong commercial awareness, balancing partner needs with OUA’s growth objectives.
  • Higher Education Experience (Desirable): An understanding of the higher education sector and relevant legislation is advantageous but not essential.
