Operations Supervisor - Shipping

If you are an Operations Supervisor looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Boulder, CO location, you will be responsible for overall operational efficiency, safe operation, quality, and throughput within the Shipping Department. This role will improve metrics related to safety, quality, first pass yield, cycle time, and on-time delivery by leading value stream teams and hiring and developing team members using known best practices.

This is a 1st shift position Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:00 pm.

AS AN OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR, YOU WILL:

  • Lead production activities within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Support and administer company policy in an appropriate and consistent manner to ensure employee trust and management credibility.
  • Lead process improvement teams and engages Manufacturing Specialists to address quality and cycle time issues within their value stream.
  • Employ lean tools to find opportunities for improvement and leads projects that result in better quality and operational efficiency.
  • Develop/train people to identify and resolve problems on their own using the employee development system and by providing regular and timely feedback and coaching.
  • Coordinate releases of new products by engaging on new product introduction teams. Uses Manufacturing Leads to help develop processes, PMAPS and tooling for new products.
  • Support 5s+1 discipline by making work area improvements the responsibility of each Manufacturing Specialist.
  • Lead Kaizen events that reduce cost and eliminate waste within their value streams.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels by maintaining, instituting, and improving visual material replenishment systems where appropriate.
  • Have responsibility for documentation in their area such as training, training records, timecards, PMAPS, equipment calibrations & preventative maintenance.

You monitor progress by maintaining dialogue on work and results.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years supervisory or leadership experience or equivalent military experience
  • Microsoft Office / 365 experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience in Shipping and/or Logistics is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (Manufacturing Technology or Engineering)
  • Experience in a Production environment

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $66,400-101,900 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
