Context/Scope:
Diageo’s North American Manufacturing (NAM) vision creates a powerful mandate for best-in-class execution underpinned by capability building and empowered people at its core.
- Responsible for the leadership and execution of the NAM capability build strategy and Subject Matter Expert (SME) development across all sites.
- Proficient at influencing and communicating to ensure success at all levels, development, and delivery of training content.
Purpose of Role:
Provide clear leadership and direction to drive capability building through training and improvement in the following areas:
Facilitate the development and execution of Site Steering Committee (SSC) training plans and site Capability Development Matrix linked to Site Mission and NAM Vision. Assess training needs; design, develop and deliver training modules to build both functional and leadership capability at the site. Facilitate the development and execution of Early Management (EM) ManEx and TPM tactics at sites to ensure a vertical start-up; deploy on-boarding training for all NAM Manufacturing Excellence initiatives. Ability to grasp strategic ambition with practical, executable training programs that will transform capability level of site over a 3-5-year period.
Key Outputs:
- Development and execution of capability building programs aligned with business digital transformation objectives and site mission
- Clear capability assessment and training plans in place with the development of site Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Consistent year on year delivery of network capability build.
- Development and training of practical, theoretical, and technical training.
- New hire onboarding training and delivery.
- Facilitate training workshops as required based on the needs of the site.
- Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management.
- Assess all job descriptions and role profiles for employees, both hourly and salaried, to identify the skills and knowledge required to ensure compliance with the requirements of legislation and compliance policies.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- 5-7 years’ experience in Capability Development or Training role – manufacturing experience preferred with some technical training.
- Lean Six Sigma Accreditation and 5-7 years’ experience in ManEx/TPM
- 25% domestic travel
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong awareness and organizational understanding
- Excellent verbal and written skills; Strong coordination & administration skills
- Influencer with people at all levels; Ability to drive project with rigor and momentum; Effective shown leadership and project management
- Contact and awareness of workplace safety and a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
