Essential Skills and Experience:
Working towards a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
Excellent written and oral communication (to include presentations)
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Power Point, Excel, and Word
Good time management and prioritizing skills
Strong organizational and task management skills
Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner
Interest in Automotive Manufacturing
Self-starter who takes pride in their work product
Preferred Skills and experience:
Strong statistical background
Strong mechanical aptitude
Job Description & Position Summary:
Support the Maintenance Department in all applicable functions relating to processes and equipment reliability/ repair. Learning the processes within the Maintenance Department. Working with the Maintenance Engineers and learning SAP PM module. Become familiar with Key performance indicators, Overall Equipment Efficiency and Preventive Maintenance practices. Support the warranty, continuous improvement and planning processes, root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
Position Responsibilities:
Support Maintenance Planners & Schedulers with day-to-day tasks and assigned ongoing projects.
Participate in daily meetings that pertain to essential functions of the position (i.e., Shop floor meetings, Performance improvement meetings, etc.).
Follow up on action items from open issues log.
Assist in design and building of tools and equipment and recommends improvements to existing processes.
Perform activities in coordination with the Maintenance Dept. related to process improvement, evaluation, and documentation.
Develop, monitor, analyze, and improve KPIs for assigned projects.
Utilize basic techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
Effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner with all appropriate customers, both internal and external.
