OPS IT Specialist

The Conflicts of Interest Program is in need of a part-time OPS IT specialist. The IT specialist will assist with the administration of the UFOLIO (UF Online Interest Organizer) system used for disclosure of outside activities and financial interests, and will also make updates to the COI Program Website using WordPress. The position will generally require 15-20 hours of work per week, but the weekly time commitment will fluctuate somewhat based on work needing to be performed. This position will be needed primarily during regular business hours, but will need to work in the evening occasionally when patches are being implemented. There is no preset schedule for the position, so some schedule flexibility will be available. Experience with Huron software/products is preferred, but not required. Specific tasks will fluctuate with departmental needs, but work will generally include:

• Under supervision of the COI Director, coordinating patch requirements, plans, and implementations with the UFOLIO Developer, other UF IT staff as appropriate, and Huron tech support,
• Performing the majority of system testing prior to implementing development patches,
• Accessing Huron’s server to write and produce UFOLIO SQL reports as needed for compliance reports and public records requests,
• Troubleshooting system issues with end users,
• Updating and maintaining user accounts,
• Submitting and managing service requests to Huron as needed,
• Managing and updating the COI Program website.

$15-$20 per hour commensurate with experience and skills

• Previous experience with SQL or SQL certification,
• High level of attention to detail,
• Excellent critical thinking skills,
• High level of confidentiality,
• Customer service attitude,
• Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally to UF employees at all levels, potentially including deans and vice presidents.

• Experience with Huron software/products
• Ability to adjust communication styles to best suit audience
• Understanding of the interplay between IT processes and departmental business processes, particularly with respect to testing,
