Active on leading US exchanges, Optiver’s Chicago office trades a wide range of products from listed derivatives to cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign exchange.What we are looking for:We are looking for an Operational Risk Analyst to join the Optiver Operational Risk Management team.In this role, you will help us monitor risk, scale, and improve our frameworks and processes to ensure continuous learning. You will also analyze incidents up-close, identify trends, and work with a variety of stakeholders to set up robust risk and control processes while maintaining the company-wide control framework.The role is based on the trading floor in a dynamic environment. You will have broad outreach across the entire organization, closely interacting with all Trading, Tech, Data Analysis, and Risk & Control teams. You will frequently communicate with, report to, and advise senior management. Additionally, you will stay abreast of all new business activities and developments.What you’ll do:• Work on the Control Framework, which spans the complete Optiver US and Europe organization• Focus on the US business but will also liaise with other regions. Activities include:• Controls & assurance: which involve assessment of the important controls and assurance processes around these controls• Day-to-day incident management, and data analyses for Operational Risk identification & mitigation• Comprehensive risk assessment to identify and evaluate potential risks• Conduct periodic management reporting• Build dashboards, tooling, improving AI and data analytics capabilities for the team• Communicate, train, and advise the business on Operational RiskWhat you’ll need:• Knowledge of financial exchanges and financial instruments is preferred• Analytical thinking skills and a good eye for detail• A strong affinity for technology• Ability to work in a fast paced environment• Drive to continuously improve and a high personal bar for performance expectations• Bachelors or Masters degree in a STEM studies• 1-3 years of experience in a similar area or in the sector is a plus• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is requiredWhat you’ll get:• Work alongside best-in-class professionals from over 40 different countries• Performance based bonus structure that is unmatched anywhere in the industry.
