Full‐Time Optometrist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center

The Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time optometrist to work closely with our glaucoma specialists to facilitate patient care.
Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluation and presentation of patient history, physical examination and diagnostic testing data to the glaucoma sub-specialist
- Formulation, initiation, and review of treatment plans
- Integration of general health information into the glaucoma management paradigm
- Participate in patient education to maximize treatment effectiveness
- Maintaining appropriate electronic health record documentation
- Communicate and respond to patient questions and concerns
- Apply telehealth consultation when appropriate
- Work effectively as a team member and provide the highest-level quality of service and care.
- Provide comprehensive optometric care for new and existing patients
- Participation in departmental academic activities
- Maintain compliance with all current organizational, state and federal regulations pertaining to optometry.
- Willingness to travel to various practice locations.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of optometry.
- Currently licensed by New York State.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Completion of a residency in optometry required.
