IT Director

Opus Talent Solutions is an international recruitment and training company that prides itself on solving global problems with talent. We have 3 unique brands in the Opus TS family: Opus Recruitment Solutions (Tech), JD Ross Energy (Renewables) and _Nology (diversity and training) and over 500 employees worldwide. We provide niche talent solutions to over 1,500 global clients including brands like Goldman Sachs, Burberry, Accenture, and ASOS.

The IT Director will be fully responsible for the internal IT department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and support across Opus Talent Solutions as the company continues to grow and evolve. With the foundational technology platform already built, the focus will be on optimizing and supporting business operations. This role combines strategic vision, proactive operational management, and hands-on technical engagement, partnering closely with business units to support and enable growth through innovative and efficient use of technology.

Responsibilities:

  • IT Service Delivery: Ensure seamless and high-quality IT services across all business units globally, acting as a key escalation point for service.
  • Hands-On: Actively engage in the configuration, support, and troubleshooting of the Microsoft Azure environment, Aruba SD-WAN, and other core technologies and with core business applications.
  • Process Improvement: Work closely with different business units to understand and optimise their processes, leveraging both current and emerging technology.
  • Project Management: Lead, plan, and execute IT projects, from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals. Manage stakeholders and maintain accountability for project timelines and outcomes.
  • Technology Advisory: Provide strategic advice to senior management on technology adoption and trends that could benefit the business, staying ahead of emerging technologies.
  • Cyber Security Management: Own and drive the cybersecurity strategy for the firm, ensuring all measures align with industry standards and protecting the organization’s assets.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small but highly proficient technical global team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Manage relationships with key IT vendors, including contract negotiation and performance review.
  • Incident Response: Quickly and effectively address IT incidents, minimizing impact on business operations, and thinking creatively to implement solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.

 You will need:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 suite
  • Project Management: Proven experience in leading complex IT projects from planning, budgeting to delivery, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Cyber Security: Solid knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and practical experience implementing security strategies.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of how IT can drive business efficiency and experience in advising stakeholders on technology strategies.
  • Leadership & People Management: Experience leading and developing a high-performing IT team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with the ability to pivot and adapt to business needs.
