Senior/Staff Software Engineer (ML Engineer)

Orby builds the next-generation Automation AI platform to automate repetitive processes. Orby observes a user’s activities, identifies repetitive work steps, and generates the suggestions that ultimately automate these tasks. The two founders have unparalleled domain knowledge and AI expertise - Bella Liu led AI product and business development teams at UiPath (enterprise automation leader) from the early stage to post IPO and Will Lu led the engineering teams at Google building successful enterprise AI products in the last decade. Throughout the beta development, Orby has partnered with some of the world’s largest organizations to deploy the product and save users valuable time. They also hired world-class engineering, research, and design talent from Google, Microsoft, and Stanford who have extensive experience building cutting-edge technologies. Responsibilities

• Contribute to all aspects of the Machine Learning development process, including, model architecture, data curation, training and inference infrastructures, evaluation pipelines, PEFT, and many other exciting cutting edge AI technologies as the emerge
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to design, development, test and maintenance of high quality product
• Collaborate with product engineers to develop and integrate ML models and features.
• Collaborate with research scientists on original research in the space of foundation model
• Building reliable and secure systems to power our web-based applications
• Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and developing novel ideas, new AI tools and technologies

Where We Work

• We work in a hybrid model. During the week we’re in the office three days a week. During the day we have core hours when everyone is expected to be available. We are currently hiring in Mountain View, CA, although we do sometimes make exceptions. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong algorithm, data structure and coding skills
• Familiar with the state of the art in AI
• Experiences in end to end ML application development, including data engineering, model tuning, and model serving
• Experiences in NLP 
• 3 year relevant working experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of excellence and desire to grow
• Experience at fast-growing companies or startups
• Experiences in large-scale ML development
• Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications
• 5+ year relevant working experience

Compensation

• We aim to attract and retain the best employees and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contributions to the company. 
• The pay range for this position in California, is estimated to fall in the base range of approximately $130,000 - $300,000. 
• This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may vary
