The Commission for the Blind’s mission is to Empower Oregonians who are Blind to Fully Engage in Life. We do this through providing vocational rehabilitation and independent living services to Oregonians with vision loss, under Title IV of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. (WIOA). The Commission for the Blind is a seven-member Governor-appointed, Senate confirmed public body that provides policy direction and oversight to the agency to support all of the agency programs and services.
The IT Infrastructure Administrator is focused on ensuring the organization’s overall successful operations through providing information systems support that further the agency goals, objectives and mission. This position reports directly to the Business Operations Manager and provides Information Technology support and expertise to the Leadership Team and agency staff. The IT Infrastructure Administrator takes part in evaluating, analyzing and implementing new technology and systems where significant compatibility issues arise and must understand the accessibility and usability issues with technology and systems experienced by our visually impaired employees and clientele. You will ensure the maintenance, support and operation of agency systems that are critical to the agency accomplishing our work (including but not limited to meeting state and federal tracking and reporting requirements). You will act as a liaison between the agency, the state’s Enterprise Information Services (EIS) and similar technology partners.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Five (5) years of information systems experience in: Systems Administration, SAAS Software expert level end user support, help desk and vendor management OR;
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: Systems Administration, SAAS Software expert level end user support, help desk and vendor management OR;
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: Systems Administration, SAAS Software expert level end user support, help desk and vendor management.
Desired Attributes:
Familiarity with AWARE case management system (or similar) is preferred.
General understanding of use of adaptive equipment and technology solutions specific to persons with visual impairment.
Broad knowledge base of, and ability to use a variety of computers, software, and networking information systems; Ability to follow and work within specific processes, policies, and procedures.
Proven ability and skill to clearly explain complex/technical concepts in terms that are understandable for technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated skill in IT system administration, network security and cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
Strategic and critical thinker with expertise in research methodology with a marked attention to detail. Ability to collect, organize and evaluate information to produce recommendations for action.
Knowledge of state contracting and oversight (IT Investment) policies and procedures.
Proven ability to document IT policies and procedures (e.g.: user guides) and create network diagrams showing the matrixed relationship between the agency and technology partners.

This role will be open to Hybrid work once trial service is completed. The position will require occasional travel to support field offices throughout the state and may require work outside normal (8-5 Mon-Fri) working hours. Terms of hybrid work and schedule will be discussed and agreed upon between the hiring manager and successful candidate.

Employee is required to obtain and maintain Level 4 CJIS clearance.
