MDS Registered Nurse

Otterbein at SpringMeade Health Center is seeking a skilled MDS Registered Nurse to coordinate documentation of resident care plans and records in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Skills

Effective written and oral communication
Independent judgment
Computer skills
Knowledge of State & Federal LTC regulations
Thorough training/knowledge in writing/updating care plans
Ability to assess documents for errors
Knowledge of reimbursement rules and procedures
Current State nurse license
CEU's as required by State

Responsibilities

Timely completion of MDS Assessments
Creating and updating resident-specific care plans
Serving as a nursing representative for care conferences
Monitoring work of staff in nursing and other departments for care plans and MDS Assessments
Data entry on care plans and MDS Assessments
Participating in the QA process
Attending nursing department meetings
Staying current with changes in long-term care regulations through workshops and literature
Training staff as needed
Ensuring accurate coding of MDS with information from various sources
Adhering to safety and infection control policies
Respecting residents' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
Maintaining good personal hygiene practices
Displaying a courteous and helpful manner with residents, families, visitors, and employees
Ensuring documentation supports MDS coding
Completing other assigned job duties
