Machine Learning Scientist Intern

We are looking for a talented and motivated Machine Learning Scientist Intern to join our Science team to help build our next-generation machine learning algorithms. Our Science team is passionate about building science-driven features that rely on advanced machine learning and generative AI techniques to provide users with new insights into their health. We are dedicated to ensuring that the information and insights Oura provides is both accurate and actionable. The ideal candidate will ensure the excellence of our data science products.

The summer intern period is for 3-4 months, timing can be agreed between June and September 2025. This is a remote US role with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast or in Boston. 

What you will do: 

  • Apply state-of-the-art deep learning and generative AI algorithms to extract novel health insights
  • Build large-scale machine learning pipelines on health data
  • Deliver robust statistical analyses of machine learning models and algorithms for model performance evaluation and insights
  • Document, summarize, and present data analysis and algorithm performance results with concrete actionable recommendations for a broad audience

We would love to have you on our team if you:

  • Have completed all but the last year of your PhD/Master’s degree in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, biostatistics, or a related field
  • Have solid programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Have experience with machine learning and deep learning, especially with time-series or biosignal data
  • Are passionate about machine learning and generative AI applications towards improving health
  • Are self-driven, motivated and able to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively, even in a remote setting

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 $120,000 - $150,000
  • Region 2 $110,000- $138,000
  • Region 3 $102,000- $128,000
