Field Engineer (water treatment)

100% full-time

Oxyle is a multi-award winning Swiss based cleantech start-up founded in 2020. Our mission is to protect the health of our precious bodies of water by eliminating discharge of persistent and toxic micropollutants like PFAS, pesticides, hormones, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals at their source, using our efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable water treatment technology. Our game-changing solution completely degrades organic contaminants from wastewater without filtering, absorbing, or generating secondary waste and will revolutionize the wastewater treatment sector.

The opportunity

Oxyle’s Product team takes the driver’s seat for the technical implementation of our innovative technology in our customers’ water treatment processes. Together with our customers, we develop tailored process solutions, validate these concepts through tests and trials, engineer and deliver the necessary installations, and support their operation.

We are seeking a Field Engineer to ensure on-site success of our customer trials and installations. In this role, you will execute commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our containerized water treatment plants for PFAS and micropollutant removal at our customer sites in environmental remediation and/or industrial production sites in Europe.

Your key responsibilities

  • Independently execute trial and maintenance operations and provide remote and on-site support for the operation of Oxyle’s water treatment processes.
  • Specific tasks comprise setting up the containers, connections (e.g. piping, electric connections), conducting experiments as per instructions, maintenance and troubleshooting (pumps, blowers, compressors, valves, sensors), and occasionally minor modifications (mostly PVC tubing).
  • Coordinate on-site activities with local partners (customers, subcontractors).
  • Contribute to the preparation and planning of customer trials.
  • Support product development by providing feedback and learnings from your on-site, first-hand experience to the engineering team.

What you need to bring to the role

  • Technical background (ideally apprenticeship/EFZ) combined with 5+ years of professional experience in an industrial environment related to fluid handling (water treatment, chemicals, paper, or similar). Experience in commissioning and/or maintenance roles is highly desirable.
  • High awareness of quality and safety, to ensure smooth and safe operations at customer sites.
  • Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English. Additional languages (German, French, Dutch) are advantageous.
  • Have a Swiss working permit or be eligible to work in Switzerland
  • Flexibility to travel (up to 40%, mainly in CH, DE, BENELUX)
  • Driving license category B valid within Switzerland/Europe

Your mindset

  • A customer-focused mindset with a drive to succeed.
  • A calm, solution-oriented, and pragmatic approach to solve arising problems.
  • Confidence in independent decision-making, supported by analysis and critical thinking.
  • Open personality motivated by a collaborative working environment.
  • Enthusiastic to solve the significant challenges in water treatment within a dynamic startup environment.

What we offer

  • 25 days paid holidays and Winter Recharger.
  • Public transport subsidies.
  • Generous retirement plan.
  • Flexible and trust-based working hours with the comfort of working from home when needed.
  • Team events and team-building activities throughout the year.
  • Entrepreneurial company with a non-hierarchical mindset.
  • A passionate and international team where you can move the needle to create a sustainable impact.
  • An open work culture where your inputs, individuality, and concerns are always taken into consideration.
  • High exposure and direct working with senior management.
  • A welcoming workplace with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.

  • Enjoy a variety of cozy spaces to relax, along with regular after-work hangouts to unwind and connect with colleagues.
