About Pacific Fusion 

Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy.

We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems.

Our plans are ambitious. We have raised over $900M so far from incredible investors, resourcing us to deliver on these plans. We are bringing together the best scientists, engineers, and operators from the fusion community, hard tech industry, and other sectors. About the Role

Job Overview:

As Head of Government Programs you will own relationships with federal and local governments to ensure that Pacific Fusion is awarded government funding to support the build of our fusion demonstration system.  This will be a high-gain fusion system that demonstrates net facility gain and will have its own site, facilities, and infrastructure.  You will work closely with influential government leaders from The Secretary of Energy on down to help build the requirements for funding fusion projects and ensure receipt of funds.  

Responsibilities:

• Partner with government organizations such as: Department of Energy, Office of Science, National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Defense, and others that have and are building funding programs for fusion

• Assist the government in performing technical diligence and oversight in developing national fusion programs

• Identify federal initiatives and organizations that have and are building fusion programs

• As a market expert, provide credible guidance to government leaders that helps to develop policies and regulations for fusion funding programs

• Develop a network of lobbyists and consultants to help navigate the blossoming political landscape around fusion energy

Qualifications:

• Expert in the fusion technology and policy landscape with a track record in the industry of being a thought-leader and proponent for fusion energy

• Experience influencing and designing government programs for up-and coming technologies

• Experience securing non-dilutive government grant funding to build energy projects

• Well-networked at all levels of the federal government, specifically within the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration
