Senior Product Designer (Contract)

What do we do?

Paddle offers SaaS companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.

We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 3000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.

The role:

We are looking for a creative and skilled Product Designer to join our Developer Experience team.

In this role, you’ll work on a range of projects that aim to help our customers better understand the Paddle platform, how it works and provide guidance on how to get started.

You’ll collaborate closely with developers and content creators to design visually engaging, intuitive, and user-centred solutions for our developer documentation platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI/UX design, a deep understanding of developer needs, and a passion for taking complex concepts and making them feel simple.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the Developer Experience team to understand project requirements and goals.

  • Develop our home page to help customers understand what Paddle offers and how to get started

  • Visualise core technical concepts that support the Paddle platform, and guide customers through how to use them

  • Create intuitive and visually appealing designs that align with Paddle's brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs.

  • Present and communicate design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and team members.

  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in the context of developer experience and SaaS products.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Proven experience as a designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in UI/UX design.

  • A keen eye for design detail, you’re a perfectionist when it comes to graphic design, sweating every detail (layout, colour, typography, accessibility, micro animations to name a few)

  • Ability to produce highly polished graphical illustrations to support technically complex concepts.

  • Strong understanding of developer needs and experience designing for developer-focused products.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma.

  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Experience with user research and usability testing is a plus.
