We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we’re looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.Disruption is at the core of our technology and on our way of work to meet the needs of our employees now and in the future through FLEXWORK, our approach to how we work.We’re changing the nature of work from benefits to learning, location to leadership, we’ve rethought and recreated every aspect of the employee experience at Palo Alto Networks.And because it FLEXes around each individual employee based on their individual choices, employees are empowered to push boundaries and help us all evolve, together.Job DescriptionYour CareerPalo Alto Networks, the pioneer of next-generation network security, is looking for a seasoned Payroll professional to lead the Americas payroll team in a high-energy and growth environment.The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience and an in-depth understanding of domestic, multi-state and international payroll processes, stock and equity issues, and associated tax issues.This individual will be a key member of the Controller’s group and will report to the Assistant Controller Director, Payroll Operations.Your ImpactPlay a leadership role in the Americas payroll operations (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil & Costa Rica)Perform autonomously, initiate and manage complex, departmental, and / or cross-company projectsResponsible for the accurate and timely processing of America's semi-monthly and monthly payrolls, commissions and ad hoc payrollsUpdate, document, and improve America's payroll administration, business process flows and policiesDevelop, implement and generate performance metrics for Payroll team - Establish goals and objectives and mentor towards those objectivesCollaborate with regional controllers on global payroll strategies, processes and policiesLead or participate in projects related to the payroll function in order to bring value to the company through streamlining processes, automation, etc.Maintain and update payroll records for compliance with labor and tax laws, and ensure accurate and timely tax filings - Review quarterly tax reports and returnsEnsure documentation and controls compliance as the payroll SOX championSupport the internal and external audit & SOX requirementsCollaborate with HR, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Equity team on all employee compensation and funding related mattersResearch and provide guidance on complex payroll and tax issuesCommunicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customersAd hoc duties as requiredQualificationsYour ExperienceA bachelor’s degree or equivalent is requiredCPP certificationAt least 10 years of payroll experience with at least 5 years in a management roleStrong knowledge of applications, including Excel, ADP WFN & EV6, and WorkdayDemonstrated exceptional leadership and team building ability, strong communication skills, and the desire to work in a fast-paced, multiple-deadline environmentMust have experience with Payroll AccountingMust have experience in equity based compensation, including stock options, RSUs, ESPP, and SARsInternational payroll experience using service providers and / or shared services is preferredExcellent knowledge of SOX requirements, payroll processes, workflow, and practicesMotivated problem solver with a proven customer service focusAdditional InformationThe TeamYou have a passion for numbers, and our organization has a real passion for cybersecurity.
