About Us:
We are a fast-paced startup team of 5 engineers, building a cutting-edge web application with a .NET backend and Angular front-end. We move quickly and iterate frequently, delivering solutions that provide real value to our users. Our customer base includes several enterprise clients who have a much higher level of expectation regarding application quality, and they operate on a distinct release cycle from our other users. We believe in ownership, speaking up, and constantly seeking improvement, and we’re looking for a driven individual to help ensure that our product remains robust and reliable as we scale.
The Role:
We’re seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our application. You'll be responsible for building a robust suite of automated tests, encompassing unit tests, integration tests, UI/UX tests, and regression tests. Given our diverse customer base, which includes high-demand enterprise clients on a different release plan, it's crucial that you ensure our feature delivery maintains both speed and uncompromised quality.
You'll collaborate closely with the development team to test new features, prevent regressions, and contribute to the overall improvement of our product. We are looking for someone who thrives in a startup environment, loves automating processes, and continuously explores new tools and technologies to ensure high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for various types of testing (unit, integration, UI, regression).
Work closely with the development team to ensure quality at all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Implement continuous integration (CI) pipelines for test automation and reporting.
Develop and execute performance and load tests to ensure system scalability.
Ensure the quality and stability of releases for both standard and enterprise customers, taking into account their distinct needs and release schedules.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and testability.
Investigate and resolve issues related to automated test failures.
Advocate for best practices in quality assurance, testing, and software delivery.
Maintain test environments and data sets to ensure reliable and consistent results.
Required Skills & Experience:
3+ years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role.
Strong experience in automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD).
Strong understanding of web technologies, including REST APIs, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and testing tools for both backend and frontend.
Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, xUnit for .NET, Jasmine/Karma for Angular).
Solid knowledge of source control systems (Git) and working in an Agile environment.
Experience with performance testing and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
Familiarity with databases and testing data integrity.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Bonus Skills:
Experience working in a startup environment.
Knowledge of Docker and containerized testing environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like Heroku, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
