What does a great Paralegal do?

Be an essential part of the Travelport legal team by providing paralegal support to Travelport on commercial contracting matters related to Travelport’s Air Commerce and Hospitality lines of business and provide general paralegal assistance to the Travelport legal team on other projects as directed by the Vice President, Legal Americas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and draft all forms of contracts and associated terms and conditions, and confidentiality agreements, in support of Travelport’s commercial relationships, i.e. airlines, hotel chains and aggregators, rental car companies, cruise and tour providers, agencies, and others.
  • Provide clear and practical advice on how to manage legal issues and processes to Travelport colleagues in our Atlanta office and around the world, through in-person meetings, video calls, and via email and other forms of written communication.
  • Assist in regulatory matters relating to Travelport’s engagement with governments and regulatory authorities, including the management and maintenance of applicable licenses, required recordkeeping, and compliance with other legal requirements to which Travelport is subject .
  • Support litigation and other adversarial proceedings; responsibilities may include responding to subpoenas, issuing and managing legal hold memos, issuing and managing internal electronic data requests, and preparing and filing proofs of claim.
  • Provide support on confidentiality agreements, requests for proposals, and other miscellaneous tasks that arise from time to time.
  • Engage in other paralegal tasks and projects, including:
  • Manage complex legal projects as directed including gathering information and documentation, and acting as liaison with internal Travelport employees and senior management, and parties outside of Travelport including law firms, courts, law enforcement, bankruptcy trustees, and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge regarding Travelport’s record retention policies and act as Americas legal liaison to Compliance team on records maintained in Atlanta office.
  • Promote good commercial/best practice procedures including establishing or revising policies and procedures as needed to support business activities.

Who we are looking for in this role:

  • College degree, with a preference for either an emphasis in paralegal studies or post-graduate certification from an American Bar Association-approved course of paralegal studies.
  • Experience negotiating, reviewing, editing, and drafting portions of commercial contracts and confidentiality agreements either in a law firm or corporate in-house environment.
  • Understanding of the areas of law relevant to commercial contracts, litigation, and regulatory procedure.
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize urgent projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is helpful.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
