As a Parent Partner in Camarillo, California, you’ll work as part of a team with youth partners, family social workers, field-based clinicians, and program managers to round out the holistic care treatment for youth and families. You’ll be the parent’s advocate who will help families gain the skills and tools needed to be independent, confident parents. This is a role where no one day is alike as no two parent’s needs are alike. Some days you may be helping with budgeting or establishing house rules, while other days you may be providing support during court proceedings, IEPs or family meetings. Your flexible schedule allows you to meet parents when they most need you, which may mean starting your day before their working hours and ending early or starting your day later and meeting them during dinnertime. At times when you have resistant parents, you’ll use your relationship, shared life experience, and interpersonal skills to gain their engagement and commitment.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
If you’ve had at least four years of real-life experience as a parent or primary caregiver and have successfully navigated mental health, probation, child welfare, special education or regional center services for your child, and have received your high school diploma or GED, we encourage you to apply.
