Part-time (12 hours), Time-bound Clothing Clerk - Cedar City Utah Temple

The Clothing Clerk provides an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple by laundering, mending, and generally caring for the clothing and linens used in the temple. This position typically reports to the Clothing Supervisor. This position provides guidance and direction to volunteers/service missionaries working in the Temple.

This is a time-bound, part-time position which has an end date and which will be regularly twelve (12) hours per week with varying shifts. Occasionally will be required to work during all hours of temple operations which are Monday through Saturday (6:00 am until 9:30 pm) including maintenance closures.

• Works alongside service missionaries and temple staff members to accomplish the following.
• Waits courteously on patrons to provide needed temple clothing in proper sizes. Sees that sufficient clothing is on hand to supply patrons. Tabulates rental costs and receives payments from patrons, operates payment register.
• Folds all clothing and assembles packets with robes, aprons, veils, caps, and sashes according to guidelines.
• Operates sewing machine, mends clothing as necessary, and alters clothing as required. Keeps sewing area and cupboards organized and reviews inventories for reordering supplies.
• Supplies needed clothing to the clothing issue, baptistry and youth center as assigned.
• Operates commercial and domestic laundry equipment. Spot cleans clothing with appropriate cleaners and solutions and assists with steam pressing.
• Sorts soiled clothing and keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.
• Performs daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment such as cleaning of machinery, filters, vents, screens, etc.
• Regular attendance in a timely manner at the assigned location.
• Performs other duties and attends meetings as assigned.

Required:

• 1 year of work experience preferably in laundry, retail, customer service etc.
• Ability to organize, lead, and manage volunteers/ Service Missionaries
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work well with others

• Demonstrated and consistent excellence with customer service
• Demonstrated ability to be teachable and follow instructions
• Must have good verbal communication skills; able to answer phones
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment; must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have basic computer skills
