Job Summary


The Receptionist position involves daily interaction with confidential student records and information.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone, assesses callers’ needs, determines priority, and routes information to the appropriate staff member.
  • Greets and checks in all Office of Student Conduct (OSC) visitors and provides general office information.
  • Schedules appointments for hearing officers.
  • Processes requests for Dean’s evaluation forms, study abroad, and other disciplinary records checks.
  • Prepares files for review.
  • Monitors general office email account.
  • Sends and responds to emails as requested.
  • Assists with daily record keeping within OSC database.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

SKILLS

Required

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software especially Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a busy and dynamic public space.
  • Ability to operate in a professional environment and to respect and support student diversity.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information using multiple mediums.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity.

Working Conditions / Demands


This role requires sedentary work as well as periods of moving about the workplace or campus. Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
